Hello Fellow Referees!
The game book and sign-up is now open. Please try to cover at least one this Saturday. If you are covering more than one game, please pace yourself to avoid burnout.
New Referees:
If you have not signed up in the game scheduling system, please do so at https://ayso322.d4sportsreg.com/default.aspx. You will select New Member on the right-side of page. For those that have registered, thank you! Your referee gear (shirt, socks, cars, whistle, & coins) has been ordered. I have been working the last two days to track it down. I hope that it arrives by Saturday. I am apologizing now if does not. The AYSO Store is telling me the order has shipped, but cannot provide me a tracking number. I will continue to track this down. I am working to assign mentors. I should have those ready by week 2. Again, thank you for becoming an AYSO referee. I will do everything possible to make your experience a positive one.
Free Substitutions:
In the U-16 & U-19 divisions free substitutions will be allowed. For the U-19 division, free substitutions are always allowed. This is new for the U-16 division. Prior to the start of the game both coaches must agree to utilize free substitutions. If they do not, then the game is played with the normal substitution breaks. If it is agreed, then free substitution will be used. Please remember in both divisions free substitution can take place during a throw-in, goal kick, after a goal, and injury. On a goal kick, after a goal, and injury; both teams may substitute. During a throw-in, the team in possession of the ball can substitute. However in the interest to speed up the game, tag-a-long is allowed. Meaning if the other team has substitute ready, then their substitution is allowed along with the team in possession of the ball.
