Fall Soccer 2022 - Week #3

Hello JCYSL Members:

Sorry I missed our newsletter last week...here's what we have going on this week. Our uniform coordinator has been in contact with coaches on how to pick up the remaining uniforms. If you have not received your uniform, please check with your coach first to see if they have it.

Also, last week I think there was some confusion with the football teams out at Hite Park. They will be using their field periodically during the season so please be careful as you come into the park. We do not charge people to attend our games so the sign regarding paying for admissions does not pertain to us. If you have any problems or questions regarding the football team, please let a board member know and we will address it.

We are still noticing some parents parking in the grass at practices and games. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE GRASS, THIS INCLUDES THE GRASS ISLANDS BETWEEN PARKING SPACES.

See you on the pitch,
Lisa Blankenship
Regional Commissioner

Colder Weather
With colder weather approaching, we wanted to review what players can and cannot wear during matches.  First and foremost, the provided jersey needs to be both worn and visible.  Under the jersey, warmer clothing can be layered.  The clothing must not present a safety hazard to the player or other players, so no hard items, like zippers.  Hoodies are permitted, but the hood must be tucked into the back.  Additionally, long pants can be worn instead of shorts, and leggings can be worn under the shorts, but shin guards and socks are still required.  Gloves and hats are permitted, as well as ear warmer headbands.

Any items that pose a danger are not permitted.  So please ensure any extra clothing does not contain decorative pieces that could cause injury to any player during the match.  The referee of that match has the final say on whether or not an item is permissible.

Painting Fields/Team Assignments
Each week fields need to be painted and we need parents help in accomplishing this task. Therefore, we have assigned teams which fields to paint each week. The team assignments can be found under documents on our homepage. Please let your coach know if you are able to help by painting the field on the week assigned to your team. (Paint and sprayers are in the shed.) All fields should be painted white with the exception of the 10U build out line which should be orange.

Player Equipment Reminder
All players must wear a shirt (jersey), shorts, socks (over shin guards), shoes, and shin guards.  We refer to those as the 5s.  Additionally, all jewelry must be removed.  This includes any newly pierced ears.  The only acceptable pieces of jewelry are medical ID necklaces or bracelets.  Finally, hard casts and splits are not permitted and players will not be permitted to play.  If you have any questions, please see a referee or board member.

Parking

Youth football league will still be using the football field near the pond. This means parking is going to be crowded. Please leave enough time to find parking before your game.

There are 4 parking lots available (see attached):

Front Lot near playground (Gravel)
Large Main Lot (Gravel)
Small Middle Lot near shed (Grass)
Large Back Lot (Gravel)

Please respect all signs and no parking in the grass
.
JCPRC will be towing vehicles parked in the grass or along the road. (Shed Lot is the only exception).

Also, remember the speed limit is 20 MPH.

COVID-19 Guideline
Thank you in advance for continuing to following our COVID-19 guidelines. As practices and games get underway remember that we need to continue to follow the guidelines. Also, here's our social distancing plan for games:

6U - 12U: Each team (and their families) will pick a side of the field to sit on. (Teams will not be on the same side together so we have more room to spread out)
15U-19U: Parents on one side, teams on the other. Parents should sit on their half of the field across from their team.

Detailed guidelines can be found here.

AYSO Kids Zone
At any AYSO event (practices, games, meetings, and field day), AYSO operates under the Kids Zone Pledge. What does that mean? Simply put Kids Zone is establishing a positive environment for our children to play the game. The following rules are in play during these times:

  1. Kids are No. 1.
  2. Fun, not winning is everything.
  3. Fans only cheer, and only coaches coach.
  4. No yelling in anger.
  5. Respect all volunteers (referees, coaches, and board members).
  6. No swearing or abusive behavior.
  7. Set a proper example of sportsmanship.
