Fall Season 2019 - Week #2

Hello JCYSL Members:

Thank for a great start of the fall season.  As we enter week #2, we noticed that we forgot to pass along an important reminder.  Parking is only permitted in the parking lots.  The grass area around the shed is not a parking lot.  Parking lots are designated by gravel areas.  The only exception is the grass lot by field #1 in the back of the park.  Please do not park in the grass.  If need be, circle the lot until a spot is open or park in the empty back lot.

Board Transition
As I mentioned last week, the board has voted on the transition plan.  For those that do not know I am stepping down from the Regional Commissioner position on 12/1/2019.  The board voted that Lisa Blankenship will be the Assistant Regional Commissioner until 11/30/2019 and will transition to the Interim Regional Commissioner on 12/1/2019.  Lisa's vacated Regional Coach Administrator position has been filled by Karlo Llamado.  Karlo is a two year coach with AYSO and has experience with other soccer leagues.  He is very excited to focus on coach development.

Now we need to fast forward to 12/1/2020.  The plan is for Lisa to step down from Regional Commissioner position and Karlo will take over the new Regional Commissioner.

Finally, we had a Division Director step down.  Melissa Stone who has been serving as the 10U and 12U Division Directors will be stepping down on 11/30/2019.  Thank you Melissa for dedication and time give to JCYSL.  This leave numerous positions open: 5U, 6U, 10U, 12U, CVPA, Treasurer, and Safety Director.  Please let us know if you fill one of these slots.  It is your opportunity to make a difference in JCYSL!.

Please remember that we follow the AYSO Kids Zone during our practices and games.  Those guidelines are listed later in this newsletter.  Please read and follow during every AYSO event.

AYSO Kids Zone
At any AYSO event (practices, games, meetings, and field day), AYSO operates under the Kids Zone Pledge.  What does that mean?  Simply put Kids Zone is establishing a positive environment for our children to play the game.  The following rules are in play during these times:

1.   Kids are No. 1.

2.   Fun, not winning is everything.

3.   Fans only cheer, and only coaches coach.

4.   No yelling in anger.

5.   Respect all volunteers (referees, coaches, and board members).

6.   No swearing or abusive behavior.

7.   No alcohol, tobacco or drugs.

8.   No pets allowed at the fields. (Service pets are permitted with credentials.)

9.   No weapons.

10.Leave no trash behind.

11.Set a proper example of sportsmanship.
