Coach Notes - Preseason

Dear Coach:

Well, we made it to the first week of practices. Here are things to remember for this week:

· Teams are assigned fields to paint each week.
· Kids Zone is in effect during practice and game days. (See More Details Below).
· DO NOT PARK on the grass. There are 3 designated parking lots at James Hite Park. Please use all 3 allow time to walk from the parking lots to the game fields.
· DO NOT PARK along the entrance/exit road. The road must remain clear to allow traffic to flow smoothly.
· The speed limit in the park is 20MPH. Please be alert when arriving and leaving as the park will become crowded as JCYSL hosts 30+ games every Saturday and Football teams are also playing.
· Help us out by taking care of your trash. Players, coaches, and spectators should clean their field after their game. It only takes a few minutes to do this.
· Lastly, sit back and enjoy watching your team play the beautiful game of soccer.

Please take a few minutes and read the important information in this newsletter.

Sincerely,
Lisa Blankenship
JCYSL Regional Coach Administrator

Fields in Desperate Need of Paint
It has been about two weeks since we painted the fields so things are really starting to fade. Please have a parents paint your practice field the week. The team duty schedule will come out next Monday for the remainder of the season. Couple things to keep in mind when painting: 1) walk slowly. This will allow more paint to be put down and thus give darker lines. 2) If lines are thin, turn the paint can to make wider. 3) Paint the fields clockwise (especially for 10U and up) since this will lay paint on the sides of the grass facing the Asst. Referee during the game and make the side lines easier to see.

Player Equipment
All players must wear a shirt (jersey), shorts, socks, shoes, and shinguards.  We refer to those as the 5s.  Additionally, all jewelry must be removed.  This includes any newly pierced ears.  The only acceptable pieces of jewelry are medical ID necklaces or bracelets.  Finally, hard casts and splits are not permitted and players will not be permitted to play.  If you have any questions, please see a referee or board member.

No Parking on the Grass!!!
The only acceptable grass parking is the back parking lot behind the upper fields.  Please do not park on the grass in the main parking lot, along the road, or beside the no parking signs at the end of the main parking lot.  This includes temporary drop-offs and pick-ups.  JCPRC does not want us parking on the grass and we need to abide by that request.

Heja App
Every coach should have received an email from [email protected] regarding using the Heja app for team communications. Here are some highlights of the app:
  • Simple scheduling for all team members to view
  • RSVPs showing player availability, helping coaches to plan ahead
  • Instant team wide communication saving you time
  • Club Chat group for coaches and admins - allows communications with all coaches in your division
If you did not receive this email invite or have any questions, please let us know.

Inclement Weather/Text Alerts

If we have to cancel practices/games because of inclement weather or unsafe field conditions, JCYSL will utilize the text system in Blue Sombrero.

Each parent/volunteer should have received a message that your placed in a group. To confirm the membership to the group, please text JCYSL2022ayso14431 to 334-310-2497. This will confirm the group membership and opt you in to our text messages for this membership year.

Please encourage parents to sign up also as it will makes things easier for everyone.
