Colder Weather
With colder weather approaching, we wanted to review what players can and cannot wear during matches. First and foremost, the provided jersey needs to be both worn and visible. Under the jersey, warmer clothing can be layered. The clothing must not present a safety hazard to the player or other players, so no hard items, like zippers. Hoodies are permitted, but the hood must be tucked into the back. Additionally, long pants can be worn instead of shorts, and leggings can be worn under the shorts, but shin guards and socks are still required. Gloves and hats are permitted, as well as ear warmer headbands.
Any items that pose a danger are not permitted. So please ensure any extra clothing does not contain decorative pieces that could cause injury to any player during the match. The referee of that match has the final say on whether or not an item is permissible.
Team Responsibilities
Each week out teams need to help paint the fields to get them ready for that weeks games. Please consider helping your coach out by offering to paint a field during practice. You can see the list of Team Duties and which fields your team is responsible for painting that week by going to our Fall 2022 Team Field Responsibilities.
Game Balls & Flags
Game balls can be found in the shed and are marked with the the appropriate division. Please remember to return balls to the shed after your game as we only have a limited number for the season. Also, only the 10U, 12U, 15U and 19U divisions need flags for their fields. The first home team of the day will put the flags out and the last home team will put them away. See Team Field Responsibilities for specifics.
During/After Games
Please remember that we are still not allowed to share snacks at breaks and after games. Guidelines also dictate that we are not to shake hands after a game. You should just share a "good game" as a team to the opposing team.
Line Up Cards
Please make sure to submit your line up cards after each game. If your game has a referee, please submit the COMPLETED card to him/her. Otherwise, you can drop your completed card in the shed. There is a box marked Lineup cards located on a shelf to the left as you enter the shed where all completed cards are to be put. Submitting lineup cards is NOT optional.
No Parking on the Grass!!!
The only acceptable grass parking is the parking lot near the shed. Please do not park on the grass in the main parking lot, along the road, the back parking lot or beside the no parking signs at the end of the main parking lot. This includes temporary drop-offs and pick-ups. JCPRC does not want us parking on the grass and we need to abide by that request. They have also mentioned that they may start towing if this continues to be a problem. Please let parents know.
Inclement Weather/Text Alerts
If we have to cancel practices/games because of inclement weather or unsafe field conditions, JCYSL will utilize the text system in Blue Sombrero.
Each parent/volunteer should have received a message that your placed in a group. To confirm the membership to the group, please text JCYSL2022ayso14431 to 334-310-2497. This will confirm the group membership and opt you in to our text messages for this membership year.
